About Me and My Mission
Hello, I'm Lindsey, founder of Life Made Lighter.
My journey into supporting others began when I became an unpaid carer for a loved one. For over three years, caring became my world. It was challenging, rewarding, exhausting, and life-changing all at the same time. Like so many unpaid carers, I put my own needs aside to support someone I cared deeply about.
When my caring role came to an end, I found myself wondering what came next. The experience had changed me and given me a passion for helping others who were facing similar challenges.
Over the last seven years, I have dedicated my career to supporting unpaid carers across Oxfordshire and Reading. For the past three years, I have managed a carers service for a local charity, working closely with many individuals and families navigating the realities of caring responsibilities, health challenges, ageing, disability, and everyday life pressures.
Through this work, I have met hundreds of people who are doing their best to cope but are often struggling without the practical support they need. Again and again, I saw the same problem: people didn't necessarily need care or medical support. They needed someone they could trust to help with the everyday things that can quickly become overwhelming.
That's why I created
Life Made Lighter.
My Mission
My mission is simple: to take some of the strain away so you can focus on what matters most.
Whether you're an unpaid carer, an older person wanting to remain independent, someone living with a disability, managing your mental health, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, I offer practical, compassionate support tailored to your needs.
I can help with:
Home organisation and decluttering
Downsizing support
Administrative tasks and paperwork
Form filling and applications
IT and digital support
Specialist unpaid carer advice and guidance
Navigating health and social care systems
Community connections and local services
Companion support and sitting services to provide respite
Everyday practical help around the home
And much more.
I understand that asking for help isn't always easy. That's why my approach is friendly, flexible, and centred around you. There is no judgement, no pressure, and no one-size-fits-all solution.
Everyone deserves support. Everyone deserves time for themselves. Everyone deserves the opportunity to live the life they want.
At Life Made Lighter,
my goal is to help make that possible
one step, one task, and one conversation at a time.
